Inside this simple box-shaped house is a tight-fitting puzzle of public and private spaces for a couple and sizable family. The center of the house contains a large open family room and dining area that organizes views of a tree lined landscape to the south and a small lake to the north. Large windows and glass doors pull natural light and air into and through the heart of the house. The floor, ceiling, and walls of the center zone are surfaced in triangulated planes of pine. The pine wrap camouflages the private areas of the house; “secret” sliding wood paneled doors provide access to the bedroom zones. The bedrooms are visually and acoustically separated from one another giving the family a sense of privacy and peace.
