Capital Renaissance Hotel Beijing
For the renovation of the Capital Renaissance Hotel in Beijing’s Central Business District, we focused on rejuvenating restaurants and guest rooms. The design of “The Fat Duck” restaurant is an homage to the traditional Beijing courtyard house, the Hutong, which divides spaces utilizing partitions, screens, greenery, perforated light-weight walls, and varying ceiling heights. Adding abundant natural light to public spaces and amenities creates guest comfort, and provides new commercial opportunities for the hotel.
